Congratulations to Dauphin Jr. High School Symphonic Band
Crystal Edgar

Earlier this year, the Enterprise High School Wind Ensemble and the Dauphin Jr. High School Symphonic Band were invited to perform at the Alabama Music Educators Association In Service Conference in Birmingham on January 22-23, 2026. These invitations were the result of a rigorous blind application process in which band programs, from throughout the state, submit recordings with the hope they will be invited as a featured performing ensemble at this event. Each year three to five  High School Bands and one to two MS/Jr. High School Bands are extended an invitation to perform as an example of what an exemplary band should be.  This year, the Enterprise High School Wind Ensemble is one of the three High School Concert ensembles and the Dauphin Jr. High School Symphonic Band is the only MS/Jr. High School ensemble selected to perform. This marks the first time since 2015 a High School and its feeder Jr. High School have been selected to perform in the same year.

Previously, the Enterprise High School Wind Ensemble performed virtually due to the COVID-19 Pandemic at this event in 2021 and in person in 2007. The Dauphin Jr. High School Band was invited to perform at this event in 2024, however the Conference was cancelled due to the unprecedented snow storm that affected northern Alabama that January.

We understand that as supportive as our community is of our band programs, that your attendance in Birmingham at our performances times is likely improbable. For this reason, in advance of our performances at this event, the Enterprise High School Wind Ensemble and Dauphin Jr. High School Band will be presenting a preview performance on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at 6:00 P.M. in the EHS Performing Arts Center. Simply put, these students are deserving of our community's support in celebrating their momentous achievement and musicianship. We would love for you to honor these musicians with your presence on January 20th at 6:00 P.M.
