Required Materials

***All instrument specific items are available at Hoobler Music in Enterprise, Art's Music in Dothan or can be delivered to our school from Playground Music in Fort Walton Beach. They can also be purchased online at www.wwbw.com***

  • All

    • Quality instrument/equipment from a recommended source (NO COLORED INSTRUMENTS!) - Please visit www.dauphinband.com for a purchasing guide or request a physical guide from Mr. Compton.

    • Metronome/ Tuner

      • Recommended apps: Soundcorset Tuner & Metronome (FREE), Bandmate Chromatic Tuner (FREE), Tonal Energy ($3.99)

    • Portable music stand for at home practice. 

  • Woodwind Classes:

    • Cork Grease for Clarinet and Saxophones

    • Swab specific for instrument

    • Flute Rod (Flutes only)

    • Reeds for Clarinet and Saxophones (Students should have 3 working reeds at ALL times)

      • Strength 2.5 unless otherwise recommended by Mr. Compton

      • Acceptable brands: Vandoren, Royal by D’Addario, or Juno.  No other brands will be allowed!

      • RECOMMENDED: Join the Playground Music Reed Club to have reeds delivered to our Bandroom each month. Please contact Playground Music at (850) 243-2514 for more information.

  • Brass Classes:

    • Valve oil for Trumpet, French Horn, Baritone and Tuba

    • Slide Grease for all

    • Slide Cream + Spray Bottle such as Slide-O-Mix or Trombotine for Trombones

    • Cleaning Snake

    • Polishing Cloth (Please do not use towels or washcloths! They will scratch the finish)

  • Percussion Classes:

    • $175 Class Fee will cover all required materials. Broken or damaged mallets/ sticks will be replaced by the student at an additional cost. Required equipment make and model information will be provided by request.

Fees

  • Class fees are listed below. They are due by September 1st and covers the student's Band Book, T-Shirt, Music, and Binder. If you have any issue paying these fees, please contact your director and we are happy to make arrangements with you. 

    • Symphonic/ Concert Band Fee: $40

    • Beginning Band Woodwinds/ Brass Fee: $40

    • Beginning Percussion Fee: $175 

(Note: this fee includes all required materials for the class, which you keep)

  • Jazz Band Fee: $30

  • School Owned Instrument Fee: $50

  • Replacement Book Fee: $15

  • Replacement Binder Fee: $5
