Grading Policy

Band is not an Automatic A!! Your student will be graded on the following:

• Participation/Preparedness - 60%
• Student is awarded 100 points at the beginning of each week.  
• Any time the student is off task, 10 points will be deducted.
• If the student forgets his/her instrument OR mouthpiece OR reed OR folder, 20 points will be deducted.
• Performance Assessments - 40% 
• Line, Scale, or Excerpt assignments
• Written Assignments
• After school assignments (after school rehearsals and concerts).
• Concerts are GRADED.  Any student who does not attend for ANY reason, must complete a make up assignment!
