WFIN News Team

Overview

The WFIN News Team presents the school news, a character education segment, and daily announcements to the student body each morning. Auditions for the news team take place each spring. To be eligible for tryouts, students must maintain a 3.5 GPA, meet all application deadlines, and complete the audition process for selection to the WFIN News Team. Mrs. Edgar is the sponsor of the WFIN News team.

WFIN News Team 2024 - 2025

WFIN Tryout Process

The WFIN Media Team consists of dedicated 7th and 8th graders at Dauphin Junior High School who are responsible for gathering, creating and presenting the news to staff and students every morning.  These newscasts consist of character education segments and daily announcements that concern the students of Dauphin Junior High School. 

To be eligible for tryouts and the WFIN Media Team, candidates must:

  • maintain a 3.5 GPA 

  • have NO disciplinary issues

  • meet all application and submission deadlines

Eligible candidates will complete a Google Form application and create and record a sample news broadcast. The application and video must be submitted to Mrs. Edgar by April 26th.  Any candidate that misses an application or submission deadline will not be considered for the WFIN Media Team.
